Journal Notes

I bought the kit from Paper Pieces at the International Quilt Show in November of 2022. In 2023, I studied the sample quilt (again at the show and pictured above) and started buying fabrics for the background and the path. I decided that I wanted to recreate the flowers that Bri and I photographed as we completed the Tour du Mont Blanc during the summer of 2024, so my colors will vary from the pattern, but I am first concentrating on the background sections. I finished the 30 double ringed background flowers in February 2025 and am working on the remaining background filler pieces. This project has traveled to Germany, France, England, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Argentina and Iceland thus far. Domestically, it also traveled through New Mexico and Utah on our “Utah or Bust” girls’ trip. The two background flower photos are my work; the screenshots of the other rings are inspiration.
