After watching a few videos of sewing on adding machine tape, I thought it would be fun to try. The widest tape I could find was 2 1/2". I made about 10 strips in each color. The background squares were cut at 9 1/2" then cut in the diagonal. After I stitched the scrappy strip in between, I squared it up to 9 1/2" square again. I laid out the design before placing 3 1/2" squares in the corners. That way I could keep the ombre effect. I still need to rip out the papers on the back. I used web-piecing at the end so I could stitch the whole thing together in an hour. Since my design wall, sewing machine, and iron are in 3 different rooms, it saved me loads of time.
