Journal Notes

This is the 2025 RBD Challenge sew along hosted by Riley Blake Designs. I finished the blocks quite a while ago, but I didn’t love the recommended setting they created. I felt like all the work on the blocks was pushed to the outside of the quilt. The sew along was 16 blocks. If I had just sewn those together, it would have been much smaller quilt than I prefer. So I added the two little bird blocks which is RBD’s logo and set the blocks on point. I had to come up with my own quilt math to make it work. I was worried right up to the last stitch 🤓. Charles quilted it with an all over loopy design which gives texture but does not over power the fabric design. I bound it with a scrappy binding. Now I need to get started on the 2026 blocks…whew!
