Mom pieced the top. Probably from a mystery quilt, since she loved doing those projects. I added two more rows to the bottom to make it long enough for a throw since I am tall. I also added borders, backing and binding. I finished the binding by hand sewing. I used blocks from my first attempt to copy her pattern, that weren’t the correct size, in the backing. I used all fabrics from my mom’s stash for the top and backing. It is a heart block and a bow tie (or spool) block. Since my mom didn’t use sashing it looks like a fish or whale. I still just see hearts since I love hearts! One of my favorite quilts made by my mom.
