The concept was developed on a bus to Houston at the start of our pilgrimage to Turkey to walk in St. Paul’s footsteps. We downloaded a cross stitch pattern and decided to gift this quilt to the church in Thanksgiving of the support St. Joseph has always shown to the Honey Bee Prayer Quilters ministry. Paula, Celina, Donna and I shopped for fabric at Fiberworx as we matched DMC floss colors to bolts of fabric. A 1” grid was used (finished size = 1/2” square), and there are 36,000 squares. Jenny cut out almost all of the squares, Celina placed/ironed down the squares according to the pattern, and I sewed the panels. As of Oct. 1, I’m almost done.
