This was my first quilt. I went to a city wide garage sale and found sample fabric boards for drapes that were discontinued. I figured I might eventually need to make something out of this beautiful fabric, so I bought a blanket and drug them around the rest of the sale on the floor. Didn’t realize these were supposed to be dry cleaned fabrics and when the quilt lightening struck, I made a cardboard square and started cutting up squares all the same size…mostly. I found some bright white sheeting material for the back and took it to a quilter. She was astonished to find I cut each square by hand and the rows mostly matched. I was too because I didn’t know they were supposed to.
