Journal Notes

This was a kit I purchased at the Taylor Quilt Show in May 2023. This was my first large quilt attempt so I wanted a kit for guidance The kit was from Honey Bee Quilt Shop. It used aboriginal fabrics I made piano key borders with the remnants so there were no scraps left. I also had two blocks leftover that I made into a pillow I purchased Kaffe Fasset 108” backing fabric separately I started practicing on placemats and small wall hangings first for practice. My mom likes elephants so I decided to make it for her since she also loves quilts and is no longer sewing I added tails to the elephants since I felt they were missing from the original pattern. I hand finished the binding. I finished it in time to give it to my mom for Mother’s Day.
