I read lots of recommendations to work on the filler blocks the whole time you are working on the other blocks. I wasn’t sure of the reason, but I thought working the filler blocks first would give me lots of piecing practice on simpler blocks. By this time, I’ve been quilting for several years, but I had never done most of the filler blocks. I’m so glad I went this route because it meant I didn’t have many of the other blocks to do. I chose to do those blocks as I got to the section they were in. At the time I’m writing this all the filler blocks are done, as well as sections 1 and 2. Section 7 is almost done, too. It’s not perfect, by any means, but I just love it so far! 12/20/2025 — Finished filler blocks 12/26/2025 — Finished Section 1 1/2/2026 — Finished Section 2 and attached it to 1 1/17/2026 — Section 7 finished 1/19/2026 — Section 4 finished 1/27/2026 — Section 6 finished
