After making my 2025 Christmas wall hanging, I had scraps remaining. Plus, I wanted to have a cuddly couch quilt for Christmas. Although I’m trying to reduce my Christmas stash, I didn’t have many “light” fabrics and found myself going to Ben Franklins and buying more Christmas fabrics in light fabrics. Score! Found some on sale. — I was gifted 10 different 1 yard cuts of Christmas fabric. 10 yards of Christmas fabric is a lot and was falling out of my container. So in December, I decided to reduce my Christmas fabric supply by making a Christmas quilt. For the backside of the first quilt - I cut up my fabric into jelly roll strips and made a jelly roll race quilt to eliminate more fabric. After finishing that, I still had fabric leftover and decided to make the string quilt. I did go buy 8 - 1/8 yard cuts of Christmas fabric because I didn’t have any light fabric in my stash. The blocks are 10” square. I had some time before leaving for Castle Rock for Christmas and was able to finish most of the blocks. I have about a yard combined of Christmas fabric left after making the 2 quilts so I’m pleased.
