Journal Notes

I already had this bargello in mind before I decided to do the Stashbuster Frenzy*. I had the Kaffe Fassett leftover from a bag project and used it for binding another, but no other ideas were coming to mind for the rest of it. They're so amazing and bright - how to do them justice? I liked the idea of a bargello and added some fabrics from my regular stash to supplement. I did break a stashbuster rule and bought the almost solid purple fabric. The eyes needed another place to rest. I also found a Kaffe wide-back - it deserved it, I thought. The name eluded me. I can usually come up with something right away or while I'm making it - they just seem to come to me. It had been done for a few weeks and I was moving it again when "The Queen" popped into my head. So large; so grand; so demanding of attention! I love making improv pillows and had plenty of fabric for 3! I quilted them with bossa nova pattern and orange thread.
