I cut all my solid scraps into 2 1/2” squares. I also cut my white solids into 2 1/2”’squares. I made 16 patch blocks with these squares. Each block has 8 different colors plus white in order to distribute the colors. For the backing, I pieced a leftover (long) strip of a colored dot fabric on a white background. I was determined to use up this remaining scrap of fabric. Between the strips, I added a yellow fabric leftover from Slade’s lightening bolt quilt. I had a lime green fabric with blue dots in my stash that made up for the remaining backing needed. I spent a lot of time piecing the backing but it was worth it to use up the colored dotted fabric strips. It was like finishing a puzzle. The quilting was white thread cross hatched on the white squares. The binding was a colorful striped fabric. This is being gifted to LivingWell Medical Clinic.
