Journal Notes

While I count my Sampler with Grace as my first quilt, I actually finished this one before that one. (It was a king, this was a lap). This is the first quilt I did everything by myself. I chose the pattern, the colors, the fabric. I pieced it and even quilted it myself. It was the first quilt I showed at Guild and I wrote in my journal “Boy, was I nervous! (to share it.) I found the pattern in Carol Doak’s book Your First Quilt Book - or it should be - which I used a lot when I was learning to quilt. I made mom a matching pillow. We lost this quilt in the Camp Fire when Paradise, California burned in November 2018. .
