Journal Notes

This pattern has been challenging. The lemoyn stars were incredibly difficult and required step by step directions for each one. Easy to switch the fabric positions and have to rip it out. Important to trim at each step. Often could not visualize what I was trying to make. 17 colors in this quilt and many too close to differentiate. I have decided thatI prefer simpler quilts with fewer colors. I also prefer block assembly . Learned how to do some important pieces, such as flying geese and square in squares , but would rather do more creativity than follow a complicated pattern. This quilt was too intense and i did not enjoy making it. It did tuen out pretty nice. Sent to quilters on June 9, 2026.
