My inspiration was a color wash quilt by Terry Rowlands. (And many more from Pinterest). I knew I had to make one for myself. 272 -(16x17 rows) 3 1/2” squares. Every square is a different fabric and mostly from my scraps/crumbs (both mine and from a friend.) A few blocks were made from my stash. All are 3 inch finished. I laid out the blocks on a flannel table cloth and then took it to our Saturday Sewing Day at Nancy’s to assemble. I quilted it with interlocking squares on my long arm - tan thread. (This was the first time to do this design). I know a modern quilt doesn’t have a border, but I felt the border helped bring it all together. Tiffany (daughter) suggested a batik which was perfect. It has a water color effect and pulls out the aqua, green, maroon, orange, tan, and more. (3 in. Finished Border) I’ve had this batik in my stash for probably 6 years. Binding was done by hand. The backing was a turquoise fabric from my stash that I purchased from Ben Franklins flat fold some time ago. (I love this fabric.)
