Journal Notes

The quilt pictured was made by my great-great grandmother who emigrated from the Ukraine area (German descent) to South Dakota. My sister has the original quilt which a quilt historian said was made in the 1880s. I attempted a star with machine piecing, but may need to switch to hand piecing for better accuracy. 02/28/2025- I have one block done. 6/22/2025, quilt top layered and ready to quilt. 11/15/25 finished quilting and attached binding. 11/20/2025 finished hand sewing binding. 11/25/25 finished washing out marker. Won a purple ribbon at 2026 BCF.
