This will forever be the quilt that broke my sewing machine! I was making the woven “ropes” for this quilt and my machine shut down. The screen went black! I let it rest, turned it back on and it would only sew in reverse. When I was able to sew forward, the screen went black again. I took it my machine into the shop and learned the motherboard was shot. Luckily, this happened just before a quilt show so I had an excuse to buy a new machine! I finished the ropes and set to weaving them all and tacking them down. This quilt was a labor of love and definitely tested my patience! It was worth it. I was fortunate to see this quilt hang at Quilt Con 2026 in the Negative Space category.
