At the age of 12 Tara, the youngest of eight children, lost her mother to colon cancer. This was not just devastating to the family, but to everyone who knew Darnee. The week before Dar died she handed we a pattern and a few baby clothes and said I would need to make the quilt. I kept those clothes safe for six years before this quilt came to be. The Dresden Plate represents their family and was used on the quilt Darnee was buried with. Tara's oldest brother gave me a sample of how their mother would sign cards to the kids. This quilt is 100% from a mother to her daughter. My hands were only the means of delivering it.
