I wrote this pattern during Covid shutdowns, inspired by Ecclesiastes 4:12: "By yourself you're unprotected. With a friend you can face the worst. Can you round up a third? A three-stranded rope isn't easily snapped." I made the original quilt while living on Oahu. Fabric availability on the island was limited during those months but I was able to gather up this collection of fabrics for this first iteration. It still makes me smile. Every quilt shines beautifully next to the water on a sunny day. This is a foundation pieced pattern that is easy to assemble. The pattern was written with cutting instructions that limit fabric waste. The key to making this pattern pop is using fabrics that have a lot of contrast.
