I had purchased several different Chicago Cubs fabrics, mostly at Jo-Ann’s, some before they were closing but then more once they were closing. The plan was always to make something for Steve. He’s a math, genius, puzzle kind of guy so I decided on the rhombus pattern. Once we knew he might be sick and would undergo treatment at some point, I decided to make it sooner rather than later. I have made quilts with triangles before and have had some trouble with them but this came together really quickly. I actually cut it out and sewed it together at mom’s while she was recovering from hip surgery. I did a meandering quilting pattern because I wasn’t ready to tackle a baseball pantograph. I’m going to have it ready for our 33rd wedding anniversary!
