Journal Notes

Katie has been our dog groomer for the last 5 years. She first started seeing our Saint Bernard, Frankie, when she was 12 weeks old. Katie makes Frankie’s coat shine! Frankie (and now Cooper) love going to see their Miss Katie. They get excited when we say her name and they know they get to go see her. Katie’s favorite dog breed is a Borzoi. The logo for her dog spa is made after a watercolor depiction of the dog. I used it as inspiration to make a quilted interpretation of it. I used raw edge appliqué from white fabric. Then I used Inktense Pencils to “watercolor” her logo dog onto the piece. I quilted it with my domestic machine with swirls - reminiscent of shampoo bubbles! I can’t wait to gift it to her for Christmas! I hope she loves it as much as I loved making it for her. She’s our favorite groomer!
