I just finished my quilt- Retirement gift for my boss (Cathy Seapy) who is retiring from LivingWell after 21 years. She said her bedroom is black and white with red accents. She couldn’t give me a design of what she liked so this is what I made. I’ve been wanting to do this pattern and also a black & white quilt. Used a Tri-Recs quilting ruler. I sent it out to be quilted. The red thread on a black backing shows the quilting - geometric diamonds going the opposite direction of the piecing. The front side quilting is also red but it isn’t overpowering. Overall, I’m pleased. After the piecing was all done, I found out that some of my whites are actually off-white. Never noticed it in my lighting. So hopefully the dim lights of the bedroom will not accentuate my off-whites. At least they are spread around the quilt like it was intentional. (That’s my story and I’ll stick by it).
