I was looking through my newly acquired Scappiness is Happiness Quilt book by Lori Holt! One day it was raining so I decided to look through the book and see what might strike my fancy. I took on the Flirty block to use up the scraps of low volume scraps I have in my scraps. I had reservations after I started piecing it together but once it was all sewn into the top I loved it as it reminded me of my grandma 💕I’m not sure why, i think it was the softness of the fabrics that made me think of her. My grandma has been gone 43 years but I still smile when I think of her, she wasn’t much of a talker but she was such a kind person and was 4 foot nothing in stature. She made the best chocolate pudding and had always had geraniums in the house and porch. When Byllie, Macie’s mom, received the quilt she was happy because she had not received a single blanket for her and numerous blankets for Marcus. I’m happy that she was excited to get the quilt, so I know it will be loved and well looked after. 👶🍼 This was my first quilt I quilted. I was very nervous and had no idea how I was going to quilt it. I looked at up on the internet and found that someone said that she always just did a wavy line vertically so that if you made an error in straight line quilting that it isn’t as obvious. So that’s what I did, not fancy but the batting should stay in place .
