The hubs and I worked on this one together. The wildlife panels (Having found them on Etsy) were his nod to having another homemade quilt. The main block was altered from a design I found online. I just knew I wasn’t going to make her quilt, I was going to create my own using her block, I decided not to purchase it but came up with my own pattern. My sizing depended on the panel I placed in the center blocks so I had to work around those. Fabrics were chosen from a QT fabric collection I saw at “the cute little fabric shop”, an online store I could easily obtain fabrics through a pickup order. Most of the grunge prints are jewel toned and vibrant rich colors. Started creating at a retreat and over the year worked on the various blocks till I had 25 completed. I knew I wanted a king size so I had to create the sashing to fit what I needed. 5” ize pieces were added so it wasn’t “square”. I decided on ruler work since this was a personal quilt. It took me weeks to get that part done, then I had to go back for all the thread changes on the tread painted panels. Overall quite happy with it. Sandwich was top, 80/20 batting, white flannel, backing in 105” wide QT grunge in navy blue. Pillows to match out of the grunge.
