My son nonchalantly said “Hey Mom, wouldn’t it be nice to have a quilt of the United States so I could teach Lucas the names and where they are.” Hmm. Sounds like a panel. Most panels are for wall hangings. Then I came across this free pattern. I do not like Appliqué but what’s a Grandma to do? The pattern was so cute. I choose Bright solids for a boy. He’s only 4. I’m not so good. I want the stitch to zig but it zags instead. But all in all, I’m pretty happy with it. Now to figure out how to quilt it. Quilted it using a puzzle pantograph. Used a California state park panel as the backing.
