I joined the Summer Scrap Bash hosted online by Lo & Behold Stitchery and chose the Sawtooth Star block as my inspiration but from there I diverged, making improv pieced centers and improv pieced flying geese. When my finished block size fell short of my 12.5” goal (faulty quilt math), I decided it needed borders. Those were made as scrap strips sewn to notebook paper (stitch and flip paper pieced style) with colors to coordinate with the adjacent stars. The pieced binding was done in the same color style.
