Prepping for quilt camp - project #2. I was originally going to use this Americana fabric (which I love) to make a firecracker star quilt, but while cutting I realized I should have cut 9 inch squares instead of 10 inch because then I didn’t have enough fabric. So I switched projects… my mom had used this pattern from a magazine to make a Kaffe quilt and I liked it. It is cool because you use the smaller pieces of the 5 inch HST on the border so you don’t waste the fabric. It worked out…although after putting the borders and sashing on, I realized I had some of the blocks turned and now the same color squares are matching… like three of them. It just needed to be turned 1/4 turn. Oh, well!
