Journal Notes

I had too much Christmas stash and I wanted it gone as fast as possible so I made a gigantic 9 patch with friendship stars in the corners then added all of the patches between, including the “beams”. Pretty fast and easy but I had hoped to use up these particular fabrics. Nope. I didn’t think about piecing the back at that time. (I used minky and LOVE IT). March 2020 lockdown was when I started my quilting passion. I started binge-watching Donna Jordan’s videos and got even more goofy about buying fabric*. This quilt was the first project that showed me how long it takes to actually get through stash. I had dabbled with placemats and pillows first so this was my first full-size project. *Over the years I had bought fabric I liked because “some day” I wanted to get into quilting. I had a significant stash even before I started my obsession. Go figure!
