Journal Notes

My niece Essie had her 18th birthday and graduation coming up and I wanted to make her a special quilt. I knew the farm girl by Lori Holt was the springboard, but I wanted to go from there. I included everything she loves about her farm life. Two crops, safflower and wheat, goats, chickens, her horse, her blue truck, her Bible, her two dogs, her favorite cat, and the pine trees from the cabin. Cyndee added that I needed 5 hearts, one for each of the family and they should be special for that person. The flying geese are for the many hours spent on a tractor going around and around a field. I’m please with it and hope she uses it and wears it out, remembering her farm girl life, wherever life takes her. Truthfully I hope it brings her right back across the road from her favorite auntie.
