Entry: Sunday, October 12, 2025 “Every Friday, we’ll release a new FREE block pattern from one of our 25 oh-sew-talented designers, and Kimberly will sew that week’s block live on the Fat Quarter Shop YouTube Channel! Running from Friday, February 20th to Friday, August 21st, with a break for the 4th of July weekend, you will have a new quilty reason to look forward to the end of the week.” https://www.fatquartershop.com I will make the 9” blocks that will finish at 63 1/2” square (without borders) I preordered the fat quarter bundle, Rosie by Fig Tree, today from FQS. It should come in January 2026. 1/25/26 I bought the fat quarters from the Fat Quarter Shop, have washed and folded them. I’m still not sure I like the alternate block so I may change it. I will use Electric Quilt to mock it up and figure out the borders. I WISH they would provide the files for each block! I may need to add more blocks so I will pull from the previous sew alongs. I’m not really liking the setting because it seems too busy. Maybe I just need to choose white, light pink, and light greens for the alternating blocks. 2/27/26 I made the first block after watching the video https://www.youtube.com/live/IrH3DfurR3g?si=GSkOeMV4NcJUsf2H 3/8/26 Started sewing block 3, it’s hard to decide what fabric I want to use. I joined the Sewcialites 3 Facebook group and was able to see what others did. It helped me decide I liked the more traditional setting of sunshine and shadows. 3/24/26 I’m a little slow to post block 4 but I did get it done quickly. This last Friday’s block wasn’t hard to make but I don’t think it looks good with the other blocks because of using blue as the background fabric. Others used something else and it looked great, so I think it’s because there just isn’t enough blue in the other blocks. Tomorrow I’m going up to the Quilting Shed and finish making it again. 3/25/26 Got it done, much better, and quilted the blue version for a hot pad. 5/23/26 I’ve been keeping up, but not great on posting pictures. Working on number 14 this week.
