Journal Notes

I was given a stack of Dresden pieces (all the green) all finished but not mounted. Total of 75. I separated out 62 for 2 smaller quilts for charity later and retained the remainder to make mug rugs for Meals on wheels. They came with “yo-yo’s” for the center but this caused a “bump” and I decided it was not a good idea because if a cup or mug was improperly placed it could spill or fall. I just made applique 2” circles and attached them. The colorful ones were not all completed. A few were assembled so I completed enough for 15 mug rugs for meals on wheels. I just completed them with FMQ around the outside of the Dresden. I always quilt mug rugs at one time quilting through all the layers with “Levi’s” denim on the back for durability. I fortunately have A LOT due to a friend knowing someone at the San Francisco factory passing on a lot of different colored scraps to me.
