In my single days, my roommate had a Drunkard's Path quilt. Her mother had made it. I moved to the area her mother, Peggy, lived in 1979 after I married. I asked her to teach me to quilt, and the pattern I wanted to make was Drunkard's Path! Good thing I had some sewing experience. This was long before rotary cutters & quilting rulers were available. The templates were cut from cereal boxes, and each piece traced on the fabric, then cut out with scissors. Hand quilted on a quilt frame made from four 1"x2"x8' lumber claimed together with C-clamps supported on the backs of chairs. The quilt is still in use! My eldest son owns it now.
