I’ve always loved the Hen House pattern by Tilda since I first seen it made up at quilt show in 2024. I finally decided to make my own. I wasn’t real found of the hen house so decided to do a picket fence and add birds and butterflies. The things I added needed to be small so I looked though different patterns. Lori Holts crow and chick were perfect! When I went to add the butterflies/bee I couldn’t find any small enough so through a few trials I was able to get them small enough but with 3/4 in unfinished blocks I won’t be making those again🤪 This also was a memory quilt. In April of this year, 2026, I lost my best friend. She battled breast cancer for 14 years but just couldn’t fight anymore. She loved the color purple and butterflies so the purple butterfly and the 2nd girl on the bottom are made from 2 of her shirts. This quilt will always remind me of her when ever I look at it 💜 Top is done ✔️ girl and hen are from henhouse quilt by Tilda…crow and chick are Lori Holt..bee, butterflies and fence and border are mine( lots of trial and error lol) stepped out of my comfort zone on these, but it was a lot of fun in the end!
