I began quilting after my last kid went off to college, and I think it was a great blessing to keep me sane and accept the emptiness of our home. I love fabric and name most of my quilts. I have a fabric orphanage and many fabrics have to just come home with me wherever I find them. They wait patiently to be placed in a quilt, their forever home. Little pieces of scraps are just like lil babies to me….so precious! Kristi Willard quilted my first quilts and was so encouraging to me and my learning curve, withholding any judgement. I have made over 100 quilts since then…I will be forever grateful to her. She is an amazing person and quilter. She is an inspiration to me! My quilt group meets every Thursday and retreat twice a year…all of it makes me sew happy! PS my sewing machine is named Louise, after my surrogate mom, Louise who is a seamstress extraordinaire! Some people name their cars? Why not name your sewing machine? Now, go sew.❤️❤️
