I've been sewing since my teens and quilting for almost two years. I retired from teaching, and found quilting to be very therapeutic. The adventure began with a shop hop with my cousins, and then a love for the calming affect of creating a quilt bloomed and keeps growing. I joined the Quilt Show and I've started my 2nd BOM. I found that I enjoyed making the quilt, but I wanted to do it all, so I got certified to rent the Handi Quilter at a local quilt store and absolutely loved it, but wanted more. After buying a book and joining several of Angela Walter’s challenges, I bought a refurbished long arm. To get another style, I registered for one of Natalia Bonner’s classes. The problem With The Quilt Show and social media, is that it shows me too many things I want to do- sewing, thread art, collages, quilting, long-arming… I just recently added another name to my long arm learning opportunities for the year. So, that is my experience so far.
