I have always been a knitter and crocheted. Sewing came in to my life about 7 years ago. I started by making a dress. Quilting addiction started with a magazine that arrived at my door every couple of weeks with all the fabrics and templates needed to make a square. I was cutting with scissors. I had no idea what a rotary cutter was or a cutting mat. I went on a quilting retreat and felt these eyes watching me. Everyone chipped in and showed me how to use them. I have made several items since then and love it. I have had a varied career, having been made redundant I decided in a completely different role change. Currently I work with adults with learning disabilities and we teach and support them in classrooms. I am really excited to be starting at an Alpaca farm with them this year, teaching them animal care. I m the luckiest person with my job. I have had time off to care for my wonderful dad who we recently sadly lost 😔. I have a wonderful partner of 20+ years and he does enable me when it comes to buying fabric, although lately he has toned that down as I have so much to do. Between us with have 3 girls and 2 grandchildren and another on the way. What more could I ask for. With all the different crafts I do you would think i dont have time for other hobbies but I also enjoy a game of golf. I'm the cook in the house and always try to cook from fresh. Tonight was a quick sausage and king prawn jambalaya followed by home made apple pie. Tomorrow I am away quilting for 4 days, something I haven't done for a while. I will be home in the evenings to make sure everyone is fed and watered.
