Welcome! I grew up doing counted cross stitch and other crafty endeavors. I joke that my first sewing lesson as a teenager was how to make a skirt, which is why I am now a quilter. (Zippers are fine, but I hate to hem!) I have been quilting on and off for more than 30 years (Yes, I am that old. Yes, that is a current picture). I am thrilled to finally have a house with my own sewing room. I don’t tend to do difficult or time consuming patterns, especially considering I inherited a massive stash from my mom in 2024. I have spent most of the last 7 years finishing her projects, none of which I am showing on this app. I really enjoy math, so I will often modify patterns to fit whatever fabric I am trying to use up from my stash. I utilize a mix of free motion quilting on my HQ sweet 16, straight line quilting on my domestic machine, and sending out tops to be finished by a professional longarmer. Most projects are donated to Project Linus. I donated 17 quilts for 2025 and am looking forward to many donations in 2026. Finally, who else is on a mission to use your stash in 2026? My goal is to pick projects where I can use my stash and only buying backing fabric when I need it if I need it. Between using fabric, donating fabric, and buying fabric, I would like to decrease my stash by 2 full bins this year. Wish me luck and please feel free to follow along and join me in my journey!
